After the storm passed to the east of us last night, things calmed down, including me, and it was a restful night.  Although, in the middle of the night, Auggie got out of his bed on the sofa and layed on the step up to our bed.  Something must have scared him, so I brought him up into our bed.  He snuggled under the covers and went right to sleep.  This morning, when we took Auggie to shore, Bob treated me to a McDonald's breakfast.    Every Sunday morning at home, he makes me a nice breakfast...

We did our morning routine and left the dock at 8:45.  We motored slowly out of the Anclote River channel to St. Joseph Sound where we picked up speed until we got into the ICW.  The sky was blue and cloudless, with a nice breeze out of the NE.  We were traveling with the wind and waves today, making for a smooth, but warm ride.  As we passed under the causeway to Honeymoon Island, we could see many boats and jet skis clustered together on the point for a day of fun on the water.   After all, t...

OMG....Beautiful morning, but thousands of noseeums were hanging out in the cockpit of the boat.  Bob and I were eaten alive as they swarmed around us when we went to take Auggie out for his morning walk. The rain must have hatched them all. We tried bug spray and bug wipes on ourselves.  That seemed to keep a lot of them away, but not all.  Bob took a towel and started swatting them behind the windshield and in front of the door.  Thank goodness we had our door and hatches closed last night.  P...

We woke to sunny, blue skies.  Quite a change from yesterday's weather.  Now we would start the drying out process.  First, we decided to move to another dock with Denny and Brigid so we could have our boats closer to each other and the docking fees were cheaper.  After the move, we put everything out in the sun to dry. It looked like a yard sale, but the sun would dry everything out nicely.  Brigid and Denny took a short hike, while I got caught up on my blog from yesterday.  The Internet was p...

We woke up to the pitter-patter of rain on the hatch this morning.  It was a light rain and when it stopped Auggie got his walk.  We got things ready and pulled away from the dock at 9:00.  The forecast was for scattered showers, so we were hoping it would rain somewhere else.  It continued to be cloudy with light rain off and on as we moved north.   We had a dolphin come by and swim with us for awhile.  It took our mind off of the weather.   We were in the Narrows south of Clearwater at 11:30...

We had a leisurely morning doing nothing much.  About mid-morning, I finally decided I should do something, so after Bob defrosted the refrigerator, I did some vacuuming.  We had to stay another day in Gulfport because we had to wait for Bob's UPS package of generator parts. It finally arrived about 1:00, so that was good.  It was cheaper to 'overnight' the package than to actually drive to St. Pete from our house, over the Sunshine Bridge with tolls, and pick it up ourselves, especially with th...
