It was cold this morning at 49 degrees, but it was another clear, sunny day.  The high today is only forecast to be 66, so the sunshine is a little deceiving. We did the few things we had to do to get ready to leave and pulled out of the campground at 10:00.  Our 4 deer came to visit again this morning before we left.  It was nice to be able to watch them in their natural habitat.  The drive today was only 173 miles, but traffic was very heavy on I-75 for a Monday.  We arrived at home at 1:45 a...

We slept in this morning!  What a treat!  Bob made Sunday breakfast and we all took a walk down to the springs. It was cooler, in the 60's, but sunny.  There were no manatees in the springs even though the spring water temperature is a constant 75 degrees.  The Ranger said she expected them to arrive any time now that the weather is getting cooler at night.  After we returned from our walk, we started on our plan to clean the trailer from top to bottom.  We had to wipe down every surface to ge...

It rained a little in the wee hours of the morning as the front moved through the area.  It was still overcast as we readied ourselves to leave and pulled out at 9:00.  We had 297 miles to go today and we would end up in Florida at Manatee Springs State Park for 2 nights.  I want to check out whether the manatees have started to migrate into warmer waters for the winter.  Tomorrow we'll clean and decommission the trailer for storage.  We ran into more rain in Dothan, AL, about 15 miles from the...

It was a mostly cloudy day to start.  We haven't had a cloudy day in....forever!  We pulled out of the campground at 9:30.  We spotted this guy with a sense of humor reminding us that Halloween is just around the corner.  The office at the campground was decorated so nicely for fall with gourds and scarecrows. We crossed the Tombigbee Waterway that we traveled on by boat in 2008 when we brought our boat down from Wisconsin to Florida.  More trees were changing into their fall foliage.  I am ...

We had an easy departure again today.  We stayed hooked-up, so it's just unhook the water and electric and we're good to go.  The weather continues to be bright and sunny, but windy.  We had another head wind situation today.  It seems that the current cold front is chasing us across the country, that's why we have had so much wind.  I am so excited!  Today is 'date night'.  We are treating ourselves by going out to dinner.  We figure it would break up our 7 days of long driving.  We have only e...

It was a cool 47 degrees this morning when we pulled out at 9:15.  We stayed hooked up so it would be a quick departure.  The wind had not started up yet, but it was sunny and cloudless.  We crossed the Arkansas River in Oklahoma before we crossed the border. The terrain looked a lot like Wisconsin--rolling hills, farmlands, and forests.  We had to drive through Little Rock to get to our campground.  We arrived at Downtown Riverside RV Park at 2:00. We were assigned to site 45 and set up camp....
