Monday, April 21, 2014    We got up to cloudy skies and cool temps.  Bob took Auggie to shore while I stayed behind to start packing up.  Once he got back we readied the boat to leave.  We had a little trouble pulling up the anchor.  It seemed that it was stuck on something.  With a couple of tugs, we were able to get it loose and we were on our way at 9:15.  Our neighbors, Bill and Linda Coleman came into the anchorage later last night and left before we did this morning.  We passed them on the...

Sunday, April 20, 2014    Happy Easter everyone!  The day began with heavy clouds and cool temps when we woke this morning at 7:30.  By the time we had breakfast and took Auggie to shore, the clouds had thinned out and the sun peeked through.  Auggie supervised Bob as he did his routine engine checks this morning.    We left our anchorage at 9:00 after a beautiful night at Englewood Beach..  Today would be our last day of vacation, so we wanted to enjoy every minute of it.  This was one of the...

Saturday, April 19, 2014    We had a great night's sleep and woke to sunny skies and cooler temps.  Bob made us our usual Sunday breakfast even though it was Saturday.  We didn't have far to go today to get to our Englewood Beach anchorage near Stump Pass State Park.  We arrived at 10:00 and dropped anchor.    The winds today were blowing 10-15 mph with gusts to 24 mph.  Crossing Lemon Bay we had white caps with winds out of the west.   We tucked in close to shore to be protected from the winds...

Friday, April 18, 2014      Change of plans--again.  Looks like there will be no beachcombing today.  Winds are blowing 15 mph  and severe thunderstorms  are on the way this afternoon and evening.  We had breakfast  and discussed our plans.  Auggie got a very windy, wavy ride to shore and we walked in the park.   .  Once back on the boat, we hauled anchor and were on our way about 11:00.    We were joined by a dolphin who rode our wave along our port side for quite awhile.   We timed the o...

Wednesday, April 16, 2014     It was a cloudy, cool, and windy day.  Bob and Bernie finished the second phase of the project repair, filled the dinghy gas tank, and filled the water tank.  We will be leaving tomorrow and needed to have plenty of water for the rest of the way home.  After lunch, we decided to visit Lakes Park.   It is a great place to walk, bike, and even take a train ride.   They were setting up for the Easter egg hunt that the park was hosting.    We talked and walked around...

Thursday, April 17, 2014     We got up and got ourselves and the boat ready for departure.  Auggie got his last chance to hunt for geckos in the lanai before we left.   It was a beautiful day--sunny, blue skies, but with a chance of showers this afternoon.  We said our goodbyes and pulled away from their dock around 9:00.   We had a wonderful visit at the 'Heinemann Resort and Spa' with our dear friends.    We motored through the canals of their community to the lock.   We had to wait for o...
