We woke up kind of early and got right into gear for taking down the camp.  Today we would be heading home.  We had breakfast and Auggie got his walk.  Bob worked outside while I worked on the inside details. We were all ready to go by 9:15.  The campground was deserted this morning.    There were just a few of us left that were leaving today.  We headed out and crossed the Caloosahatchee River in Ft. Myers and we headed north.    We were going to make one stop at North Trail RV in Ft. Myers...

We slept in and it was a casual morning.  Bob made his 'Sunday breakfast' as we had more time to spare today.  After Auggie got his morning walk, we worked on washing down the underside of the awning.  It was a little grimy from all our travels.  Then we sat back and watched the mass exodus of people leaving the park this morning.  Look at the stuff this guy brought with him camping this weekend.  He had a huge travel trailer and was pulling a trailer with a four person golf cart, 5 bikes, 2 hug...

We skipped Bob's delicious Sunday breakfast in order to get an early start to Sanibel Island and beat the rush.  We packed up our beach gear at 9:30 and over the bridge to the mainland we went.  From atop the bridge we could see the Matanzas Pass anchorage.  You get a much better view from the bridge and it was pretty empty.  We would have had no trouble getting in and hooking up to a mooring ball.  That was part of our original plan.    We took the short 20 minute ride over to Sanibel Island....

Happy Birthday, Bob.  You are the love of my life! Considering how crowded this place is, it was pretty quiet last night.  There are only a few sites that aren't full.    It was another hot 90 degree day, but with less humidity and a little more breezy.  We took a drive into town so we could fill up the truck with gas and look around down at the pier.  We parked and walked out on the pier.   There was this silver statue--NO!  It was a young man painted silver posing as a statue.    He stood ...

We rose early....naturally.  I guess we were thinking about our departure today.  We packed up and were on the road by 8:30.  Morning traffic was a little heavy getting out of the city, but after that it was light.  We took I-75 (Alligator Alley) across the state to Naples and up the west coast to Bonita Beach where we crossed over San Carlos Pass.   We have never been to Bonita Beach before, but it reminded us a lot of Anna Maria Island back home.  From the bridge  over San Carlos Pass, we cou...

It's a beach day!  The skies were blue and the temps were already steamy when we left at 10:30 for the beach. We decided to check out one of the 3 beaches on Key Biscayne.  We crossed over the Rickenbacker Causeway which took us over to the island.    We had to pay a toll of $1.75 to get onto the island.   The road took us to the actual city of Key Biscayne.  Key Biscayne sits in the middle of the island and is quite the mini metropolis.   The first beach was Virginia Key Beach Park on Virgin...
